I'm Larissa, and in 2022/23 I spent a year in the USA, in Texas to be exact. At 16, I went to a high school there and lived with a host family who were strangers at first and are part of my family today. That meant my host mom, my host dad and two dogs. I went to football games, rode the yellow school bus to school and explored the huge supermarkets. It was definitely one of the most formative and exciting experiences of my life - but the road there was also full of questions.
